Topical antioxidants are products that contain things such as Vitamin C or Vitamin E. Many of these products found in drug stores and at cosmetic counters have very little effectiveness. Vitamin C is not readily absorbed by the skin. The products we sell have a patented formula, developed by the Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at Duke University, and have scientific backing of their effectiveness.
Topical antioxidants slow down aging by preventing further damage to our skin from free radicals and ultraviolet light. Because they bind with our skin, they cannot be washed or sweated off and will stay active for greater than 24 hours. Dr. Rosen highly recommends applying antioxidants to the skin daily. She sees a great decrease in the number of pre-cancerous lesions on individual patients when they begin to use topical antioxidants regularly.
