Many people are quite confused about dietary fats. All fats are not your enemy. There are some saturated fats that are actually considered to be good for you. Organic, cold-pressed virgin coconut oil is one of them. Coconut oil got a bad name in the past due to it being high in saturated fat. There is emerging evidence that consuming coconut oil might actually improve the levels of good cholesterol (HDL) without affecting the bad cholesterol levels (LDL). There have also been claims that it can actually help with weight loss efforts, as well as having some benefits for other conditions including Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, bowel diseases and more. Try adding a spoonful or two to your healthy smoothie.
